The impressive entrance to the Cité de l’Automobile is reached by a footpath across the canal. This area was designed by Studio Milou in 2006 as part of the development of new reception and exhibition areas. It symbolises human creativity and imagination, which have been particularly prolific in the motorcar industry. Upon your arrival you will see a spectacular door of wood, glass and steel, adorned with an unusual decoration of cars and animals.

Going through the door, there is a wall of images featuring extracts of films where cars play a starring role. You are guided through to the next area by projections of motorcars in the Museum which move along at your pace.
